On this weeks show apart from the usual features I’ll be letting you know who won what in the 43rd Country Music Associations Awards show held in Nashville on Wednesday night.
There’s also a look back to the 14th November 1974 in our ‘On This Day’ feature and there’ll be a track from the Martina McBride album that you can win if you can ‘Beat The Bugle’ in our online competition. There’s also tracks from some of your favourires including Gretchen Peters, Charlie Rich, Roy Orbison, KD Lang and the Zac Brown Band.
If you’re interested in seeing the CMA Awards on TV then be sure to take a look at FILM 24 (SKY157) next Wednesday November 18th when they present the show in all its glory.
As usual I look forward to having the pleasure of your company in this weeks extended show.

Our ‘Beat The Bugle’ winner for October was Ann Smith from South Shields who correctly identified the missing word from the Patsy Cline song as ‘Blue”.
She receives a double CD of unreleased songs from Jim Reeves and Toby Keiths ‘American Ride’ CD single.

Hi Andy,
Good to know you’re there and spreading the word about the ‘American Connection’. It’s great that we can all still keep in touch even though it may be through a slightly different medium. As you mention Ms Swift certainly swept the board, so it’s good to know that younger folk are crossing the boundaries and bringing awareness to others who perhaps at one time may never have thought of listening to country. Glad you enjoy the show.
Cheers

Hi Brian, Thank you for setting up this podcast, it works really well. I have very much enjoyed the last 2 weeks. Love the Marc Cohn track and your rundown on the CMA’s – Quite a week for Miss Swift. It was nice to hear Helen & Laura mentioned last week from the Gretchen Peters forum. Super to hear ‘This Town’ played, you really could not do anything more to sing Gretchen’s praises. Love Live, Love Music, Love the American Connection LOL Smooth Radio lost a great specialized show but super to have you back “On Demand” here. Keep Up The Good Work ! Kind Regards
