We’ve got quite an exclusive on todays show insomuch that I’m going to be playing three tracks from our ‘Album Of The Week’ featuring the legendary Connie Smith and her first album release for fifteen years which is not released until next month.
You can hear three tracks today.
Our ‘Remember This ‘ feature takes us back to a listeners first holiday without her parents in the Seventies and our ‘Coulda Been Country’ track features a song from a film that caused a sensation in the Sixties for fan adoration.
There’s the usual look at the ups and downs of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts and I’ll be playing top three the best selling singles in the States today.
In our ‘Who’s Where and When’ I’ll be mentioning a change to Brad Paisley’s tour schedule and there’s songs from Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, Darius Rucker, Elvis, Sara Evans, Michael Johnson, The Lunabelles, Leanne Rimes, The Everly Brothers and a whole host more.
I’ll also be announcing the winner of the tickets to see Lyle Lovett at the Sage In Gateshead later this month,
One again it’s busy, busy, busy.

Mavericks ‘Dance The Night Away’ = Yawn
LeAnn Rimes ‘Blue’ = Yawn , please play her fab new single “Give” best in years
The Lunabelles – The ladies look fabulous but they don’t sound fabulous, its very much light-weight pop-fluff. Wasn’t surprised their single got slated in America. We’ve heard the “Dixie Chicks” tag so many times before from here today gone tomorrow acts.
Shawna Russell – Thanks !
Vince Gill – Great to get that early listen – THANKS. It’s not coming out till October in the UK its a long wait!
Brad Paisley – Darius Rucker to open for him
The Band Perry – ‘You Lie’ their last single was much better.
Blake Shelton – Can’t believe it got to #1 and there for 3 weeks. Is it really that good?
