There’s a plethora of different sounds on todays show and I shall be announcing who has won the Album Of The Week from last weeks show.
There’s the usual look at the ups and down of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and there’s a brand new Number One today.
I’ll be playing a track from an artist who celebrates their birthday today and taking a look at which Stateside artists are playing gigs right here in the UK.
Our Album of the Week is the latest offering from Carrie Underwood who plays the Albert Hall next month, and our Number One Take You Back Track takes us back to 1983 with a song that was inspired by a dog.
There’s also music from Claudia Lee, DJ Miller, Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, EmmyLou Harris, Dan Seals, Eva Cassidy and a whole host more.
Just Click the Button (arrow) below to take a listen…it’ll be good to know you’re there.
Cheers

Euvue figures – Great news that the website is getting so many hits. I don’t think I’ve missed an American Connection yet. Like reading the articles. 1-million of those hits might be mine?
“Happy birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday Jewel Kilcher , Happy Birthday to you” Did you hear me singing along to the Cloughie Euvue jingle?
ALBUM OF THE WEEK Carrie Underwood – She looked lovely at The Billboard Music Awards last week. Photo on my Blog. Yes she isn’t for traditionalists so guess thats why I like some of her songs! Having found country music circa 1992/1993 I have never felt the urge to tap into the likes of Georges Jones, Cash, Strait, Jackson etc. If it wasn’t for the likes of Taylor, Carrie, Lady Antebellum and Sugarland country music would be in a very sorry state music sales wise. Kellie Pickler went for the traditonal sound and her album appears to have bombed. Lucky if she makes 100K sales. Its nice your ben sent an advance of BLOWN AWAY. Personally I think the second halve of the album is much better. My fav’s on the album is track 6 ‘Forever Changed’ isn’t something she’ll perform live. She said she only just got through it in the studio. One of the writers wrote it about young girl who grows into a woman, has a child, and then suffers the cruel hand of Alzheimer’s. Its a beautiful track, the emotion grips you. Other fav’s 5.Do You Think About Me, 9. Thank God For Hometowns, 10. Good In Goodbye and 13. Wine After Whiskey – Can imagine her singing this at the CMA’s.
“Jesus Take The Wheel” was the best country moment in 2011 at the ACM Women Of Country event with Vince Gill & Carrie!
Alecia Elliott – I’m Diggin’ It? Out of the blue listener request! Rarely heard. Was that her only album? Think I’ve just figured out the track you played, a cover of Matraca berg “Some People Fal, Some People Fly”?
John Berry – Good to hear. Someone not played much these days.
Lady Antebellum – They have added Birmingham to their July Tour, 17th July at the O2 Birmingham Academy
Claudia Lee – Thought “Holllywood Sunset” was a good track. Trouble is too close to Taylor Swift? There are becoming many Swift-esque sound-a-likes. Is their room in the market place?
Suzy Bogguss – Your ucky she keeps coming back to your part of the country. Pleased you, Helen M and the North East gang enjoyed her at The Gala Theatre. Brian, Did you invite her round for tea?
Heather McCready – So thrilled with the Prize news !!!! Can’t wait!
THANK YOU !
Thanks fo being their Brian!
