If you’re a member of our American Connection Facebook page the chances are that it could be you who wins a couple of albums when I make the draw on todays show.
There’s a brilliant eclectic offering from our Album Of The Week as I give a play to three tracks from Darrell Scott’s new CD entitled ‘Long Ride Home’.
There’s been numerous enquiries about Carrie Underwood’s visit to Britain and I shall be giving you the latest update on that.
As usual I’ll be taking a look at some country birthdays and playing the top three best selling singles in the Bilboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
You can also hear tracks from Sonny Curtis, Kathy Chiavola, Merle Haggard, Iris Dement, Little Big Town,The Dirt Drifters, Luke Bryan, The McClymonts and many more.
Pour yourself a cuppa, sit down, put your headphones on and we’ll have a chat about some great country music.
Cheers
Brian C

Thanks for you comments Andy….Me singing and throat clearing…would I want to spoil a download. Yes like you I got to know about Carrie about a couple of weeks ago and forgot to mention it on the show. A couple of listeners have also mentioned a ‘cut’ after the announcement of Will Bannister, we’ve checked and it’s all there including his dates and the winner of our monthly draw…modern technology ‘gliches’ no doubt…I did manage to call him something other than Will…just to see if anyone would pick me up on it…..and I thought they hung on my every word …OOOpps!!
Hi Brian
The McClymonts – Loved them, fabulous track!
Little Big Town – Their new single I find disappointing
Iris Dement – “let The Mystery Be” Yes that was the track in the 90′s on Transatlantic Sessions that introduced me to her. Brian can you kindly refrain from the singing and throat clearing it ruins the download! You don’t actually think we buy the records you play to add to our collections, do you?
Carrie Underwood – Sadly your 7 days too late I flagged up her Royal Albert Hall Show 3 days before the public sale. They sold out in 90 minutes. The greedy scumbag online tout agencies have the rest of the tickets.
Will Banister – “Turned Her Onto Country” seems to be the track all the DJ’s go with. Are his other tracks up to that standard? The song got cut off and the UK dates were missed:
He will be backed by the highly acclaimed C’est La Vie, with support by Banister’s record producer/manager Johnny Mulhair, he is set to appear at the following venues:
Thursday 20 Sept:United Services Club, Precott Road, Widnes WA8 7PD
Friday 21 Sept:Leeds Irish Centre, York Road, Leeds LS9 9NT
Saturday 22 Sept: Wayland Academy, Mertn Road, Watton IP25 6BA
Sunday 23 Sept:Freds Place, Plains Road, Maaperly, Nottingham NG3 5RH
Drinkin’ Songs – After all the underage drinking problems and mass arrests at country festivals last year in America it looks like the country drinking songs are back for the Summer.Blake Shelton’s #1 now Luke Bryan ‘Drunk On You’. The consumption of alcohol may create the illusion that you are tougher, smarter, faster and better looking than most people?
Eric Church – Think he has been on the drink this week after al the expletitives in his Rolling Stone interview criticising Reality TV shows like Idol and The Voice. Blake and Miranda are NOT happy with him! As for “Springsteen” it was a #1 waiting to happen.
