There’s the usual package of great country goodies on today’s show with an across the board mix of country artists.
Our ‘Album Of The Week’ comes from the Celine Dion of country music in the shape of Martina Mcbride with a new twenty track release which includes many of her top hits to date.
I’ll be taking the usual look at the Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts as well as playing the top three best selling records this week.
I’ll also be playing tracks from a couple of artists who celebrate their birthday today and our Take You Back Track Number 1 takes us back to 1973 and a song that charted at that spot for four weeks.
Our ‘Made In Britain’ track comes from a listener who requests a song from a British band she used to listen to in the 1970′s and from the Billboard Charts I shall be playing the track that has made the biggest jump on the chart this week.
There’s also songs from Poco, Waylon Jennings, Josh Thompson, The Statler Brothers, Rodney Adkins, Little Big Town, Ashley Gearing, Nanci Griffith and a whole lot more.
Here’s hoping you can join me for a feast of the best country music around.
Cheers

Hi Brian
Thanks for reseaching Anne Murrays “You Needed Me”. Hard to believe it wasnt a Billboard #1 Top Country. For me one of the most beautiful songs recorded in any genre, lovely to hear it!
The POCO play brought back memories of the great vinyl record days, they had some great albums. I managed to get their song “Call It Love” from the The Essential POCO (2005) , it’s an unbelievable record, even blows the modern day Eagles away!
Edens Edge seem to be making a UK representation. Second time I’ve heard “Amen” this week and I like it! Thanks too for Ashley Gearing.
Made In Britain – You made the point of saying it has to be off a certain “Broadcasting Standard” – COUNTRY LIFE eh? Really ? !! LOL

Martina McBride – Always happens an artist leaves a Label then out comes a Hits album. I didn’t think much to new song you played “Being MySelf” , for her something of a throw-away track. By December 21 her new album ELEVEN had sold 119,000 copies in America and I dispute the 140,000 being banded around this week. It will not sell Gold and for her the sales are poor despite all The Big Machine Record push and 1000’s of radio spins. Her Christmas album was outselling ELEVEN 2 to 1 in December. New single “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” is #11 on the charts which has been a very slow riser on the charts.
I predict Eric Church will be #1 this week.
Thanks for Country Routes mentions. These might interest your listeners. Need a Valentines gift idea? Heart-broken afrer Hilary Scott’s wedding ?
