There’s a bit of a special on today’s show, because after a modicum of pressure you’re going to hear yours truly sing a song.
Since the announcement of Billie Jo Spears appearing here in Britain as part of the ‘Ladies Of Country Tour’ many listeners remembered that in the eighties I had recorded a song I’d written and recorded with this lovely lady, and asked me to give it a spin some twenty odd year down the line.
Your wish naturally is my command.
There’s also a look at who else is where and when and there’s the regular look at the ups and downs of the Billboard Hot Country Singles Charts.
Our Album Of The Week features Robert Earl Keen and our ‘Coulda Been Country’ track takes us back to 2008 and features one of Britains biggest five piece bands.
There’s tracks from Don Williams, Alison Krauss, Lonestar, Neil Diamond, EmmyLou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Confederate Railroad, Rebecca Lynn Howard and a whole host more.
Here’s hoping you can join me for the fastest ninety minutes of my life.
I’ll talk (and sing) to you then.
Cheers for now
Brian C

Hi Brian ,
Sorry not so Keen on Robert.
Great to hear Rebecca Lynn Howard, a very underated songwriter as well as artist in her own right.
Trio II – ‘After The Gold Rush’ is a great version.
Sierra Hull – That was great you got a request from Leeds for more of this young lady.
See my Album Review – http://countrymusicnewsinternational.blogspot.com/2011/05/sierra-hull-daybreak-2011.html
You had a message from Victoria Banks. At first I thought it was the CCMA Female Artist of The Year but no a listener from Clitheroe. Victoria’s new album is nearly out and its terrific.
Shame Miranda Lambert didn’t get the # 1 spot on the week she got married. It would have given a fav songwriter of mine a second #1. There again some might have overlooked that Lady A’s Hillary Scott co-wrote ‘Stronger’ for Sara evans. Hillary says it’s the most personal song she has ever written.
