Rosanne Cash at The Sage Gateshead.

From July 22nd through to the 25th  2010 The Sage Gateshead in conjunction with the ‘Jumpin’ Hot Club’  presented four days of toe tapping tunes from a variation of genres of American music.

The event was the Summertyne Americana Festival with headliner Rosanne Cash.

Rosanne Cash needs very little introduction to the musical world as the daughter of the legendary Johnny Cash who sadly passed away almost ten years ago (12th September 2003).

Never jumping on the fame wagon behind her fathers cloak, Rosanne has stamped her own mark on the entertainment world with her own individual styling.

Although often cited as a country artist her music has crossed many boundaries featuring folk, rock, blues and country giving her an eclectic mix of appreciators.

Her last album entitled ‘The List’  gave her great acclaim as she recorded songs that her father had suggested were the top one hundred country songs ever….she picked twelve of them for her album.

Many of these and more will no doubt echo around the Sage Gateshead when she returns for a one off performance with her husband John Leventhal in a couple of weeks time when they appear on March 26th.

If you would like to win a pair of tickets to see the show send an e-mail with the name ‘Rosanne Cash’ to connection@euvue.co.uk as I will be making a draw from all e-mails received on my American Connection Show (www.euvue.co.uk) on March 17th.
