Quick Bright Things at The People’s Theatre

This production plays the People’s Theatre this month from the 17th to the 21st of April.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has a year long inititive running nationally to re engage amateur theatre with it and the works of the master.

It is called “Open Stages” and The Peoples Theatre is leading regionally with this fascinating new play from our very own rising star North East dramatist Allison Carr .

Taking as its starting point the character Helena from ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’ Allison tells the story of life before during and after the magical events of Shakespeare play.

The play is in two parts of three scenes each with twice nightly performances.

Each scene is written and directed in an innovative way.

In an exciting twist, the two parts are performed in separate parts of the theatre as a Promanade production.

Expect hands on audience participation in what promises to be a very exciting theatrical event for theatre fans and those wanting a good nights entertainment.

I am expecting theatrical fireworks from all concerned in what promises to be a treat for all.
