If you’re a ‘King Of The Hill’ TV watcher and enjoy the character named ‘Elvin’ then you may not be aware that the character voice is that of an award winning country music star.
Trace Adkins (apart from his voice over role) has just released his tenth studio album entitled ‘Proud To Be Here’.
Containing ten tracks and four bonus offerings, one featuring recent CMA Male Vocalist Of The Year Blake Shelton it is a cornucopia of light and shade.
The title track almost being autobiographical which will strike a chord with any listener who can look back thankfully at the hand that guided them through narrow escapes. Poignant insomuch that a fire recently destroyed his home.
When it comes to escapes however his past life has taken on a variation of problems from having had legs, arms and nose broken as a youth, being shot through the heart and lungs by his ex wife, and the little finger of his left hand being severed and surgically reattached.
Perhaps the album title says it all.
Putting that to one side, this is Trace Adkins vocally at his very best, with some great self composed songs ably complimented by some brilliant musicianship.
Listeners will particularly like the tongue in cheek humour of the duet track with Blake Shelton entitled ‘If I Was A Woman’.
