He’s an outlaw…Oh No he’s NOT…Oh YES he is.
Believe it or not it’s that time of year again……when it comes to forward planning ,it is for this years panto at the Theatre Royal.
As it is announced that Sunderland Empire will not be having their festive panto treat in December this year, Newcastle Theatre Royal announce there’s a magical treat for their version of ‘Robin Hood-The Pantomime Adventure’.
That magical injection will come in the shape of an alluring Sorceress played by Tupele Dorgu, better known to many as Coronation Street’s brash and bolshy seamstress Kelly Crabtree.
Leaving Corrie after a six year run earlier this year she returned to the stage and has subsequently appeared in the West End production of ‘Mamma Mia’.
Tupele will help Theatre Royal favourites Clive Webb (Friar Tuck),Danny Adams (Robin Hood) and the north east’s best known panto dame Chris Hayward bring the legends of the forest to life.
Lancashire born Tupele will be adding her celebrity magic to the show which will also feature some amazing 3D effects.
Robin Hood will be the sixth Theatre Royal pantomime exclusively written for and produced by Wallsend born West End producer Michael Harrison, following hot on the heels of last year’s record breaking ‘Cinderella’ which was the fastest selling pantomime in Theatre Royal history and opened its seven week run with sales in excess of £1 million.
Already on target to break more records the panto which runs from November 30th 2010 through to the 15 January 2011 has already sold in excess of 40,000 tickets, so early bookings are advised.
Tickets are obtainable by calling the box office on 08448 11 21 21 or online at www.theatreroyal.co.uk
