There cannot be many of us who are not aware of the TV series ‘The Dukes Of Hazzard’.
Each Saturday afternoon our TV screens bounced into life with the adventures of cousins Luke and Bo aboard the ‘General Lee’.
Luke was played by Tom Wopat and Bo by John Schneider, and who could forget Daisy May played by Catherine Bach.
What many folk perhaps were not aware of was the theme tune (“Just Good Ole Boys’) was played ad sung each week by Waylon Jennings with a giveaway glimpse of his guitar in the opening credits.
Many more folk would not realise was that behind the acting career of John Schneider was yet another great string to his bow insomuch that he was a great chanter of country songs.
In total he released nine studio albums and eighteen singles many of which entered the Billboard Charts four giving him the Number One top placings.
It was at one of the Wembley International Festivals of Country Music that I was given the chance to chat to him about his career and in a restored archived interview you can now hear it as part of our ‘Talking Country’ series.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed talking to him.
Cheers
Brian C
