On todays show our Album of the week comes from the Courtyard Hounds.
The name may sound unfamiliar however the voices aren’t.. it’s the duo version of The Dixie Chicks with Emily Robison and Marti McQuire and as usual I’ll be playing three tracks to whet your appetite.
There’s news of an other date added to Kenny Rogers tour and details of Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson visit aswell.
I’ll be reminding you how you can win 58 tracks of country by just sending me an e-mail and how you can become a fan of The American Connection by joining up on our facebook page.
In our Our on this Day feature I’ll be mentioning the ‘Turkey Trot’, Bing Crosby, The Archers, Beer Mats and Catholic Priests…all fascinating stuff.
I’ll be taking a look at the Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts as usual andmusically there’s great tracks from the Zac Brown Band, Brooks and Dunn, Sarah McClurg, Heartland, Collin Raye, Patsy Cline, Josh Turner, Linda Davis and Ray Stevens.
It’s a very busy show so it would be great to have you on board over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Cheers for now

Court Yard Hounds – Good to hear the tracks as album of the week. Their live session video’s well worth a view. I don’t know whats happening in America and if Country radio are playing them , probably not ? Its weird why they have promoted it to UK Country radio shows as you will not find the CD on the American Country Billboard Album chart. It sold 61,000 units in week 1 giving them a #7 position , which would have been good for #2 on the country side. So why was this ? Seems as though The Hounds said they didn’t want to be on the country chart , so for America its a general release the sisters have no interest or desire to played on country.
Great to hear Lisa Brokop not quite so convinced by fellow Canadian Sarah McClurg’s vocal though great she is getting herself some UK Exposure. Wonderful music comes out of Canada and very little gets played over here.
Really enjoyed Billy Dean he has a cracking voice, I’m a longtime fan ,a huge bonus for Kenny Rogers fans.
England Dan sound very reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Good to hear Suzy Bogguss too.
