If you can remember some of the music on your local jukebox, then no doubt you’ll relate to our ‘Remember This’ feature on todays show.
Our ‘Coulda Been Country’ track takes us back to the seventies and features one of the world’s best known duos from the world of pop music who had fourteen number one hits in America but never a number one in the UK.
Our ‘Album of the Week’ comes from James Otto and I’ll be taking the usual look at the ups and downs of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
There’s also tracks from Joanna Smith, Shooter Jennings, Merle Haggard, Roy Orbison, Vince Gill, Steve Earle and a host of others.
It’ll be great if you can keep me company.
Cheers

Andy,
I wonder if you’ve hit the nail on the head with your ‘looks’ comment..(reckon that’s me out of the equation then).
There’s something unique about the ‘Secret’s', I’ll be using them as Album Of The Week on this weeks show and I’ve sneaked in a Sugarland chart climber and America for you.
Cheers
B
Hi Brian
Thanks for compiling this weeks show.
Joanna Smith – Love the track ‘Georgia Mud’, delighted its made Top 50 on Billboard.
Ashton Shepherd – Great too and climbing the charts.
Faith Hill – Talk of a new album coming out possibly this year, last one was 6 years ago.
James Otto – I won’t be buying the album. He sums up for me what you said last week about so many male country singers all sounding alike. There seems to be a conveyor belt of endless male & female artists and an unbelievable amount of trio’s and duo’s appearing. Mostly relying on looks rather than musicial credibility.
The rumours are true, Sugarland’s new UK single release is ‘Tonight’ and its now on the Radio 2 playlist. Be great to hear that or the title track The Incredible Machine on the American connection.
Shooter Jennings – Pointless cover when you have Mark Knopfler!
The Secret Sisters – Absolutely everyone is playing them , especially ‘Tennessee Me’. They were Bob Harris’ guest this week. Will they despite no airplay so far in America give Sugarland a run for their money at the CMA’s for Vocal Duo? 10 years ago there was a big surprise with T Bone Burnetts produced Oh Brother Where Art Thou.
The Carpenters – Classic track for “It Could Of Been Country”. Could a suggest any track by America, I think Ventura Highway was cut by Garth Brooks and who can blame him.
