A ‘stompin’ success

Euvue reviewer Angela Foster was at the opening night of ‘Stomp’ at Sunderland Empire last night

Sheer brilliant enthusiasm with beat and counter rhythms drove this show to an outstanding climax.

It ran non stop for just over an hour and a half with the team of eight artists made up of six males and two females who pounded their way through so many rhythms it was hard to keep your feet still. From dustbin lids and dustbins to lengths of pipes, brooms and kitchen sinks the formidable team entertained at lightning speed throughout the performance hardly stopping to take a breath. Complimented by brilliant lighting effects it is one of the most vibrant, exciting shows I’ve had the pleasure to watch for some time.

Although not one word was spoken throughout the whole performance the audience both young and old entered into the spirit of the evening by participating in some of the creative rhythms.

The show runs so fast that even as an audience member you feel as if you’ve had a great workout at the gym.

It is high class clever entertainers providing a musical show with a difference.

A joy to watch it’s explosive. Don’t miss it.

The ‘Stomp’ show plays at Sunderland Empire until January 31st
